Cruelty free brand review: cocokind skin care

“I started Cocokind over five years ago. Previously, I always struggled significantly with my skin. Whether it was taking antibiotics or using harsh topical prescriptions, it led to a lot of skin sensitivities. In the mornings, I would put on [moisturizer] in the dark because my face stung so badly my eyes would water, and my skin would turn bright red. It was a terrible process for me, so I became passionate about finding a better option.
I started looking into living a more holistic lifestyle and stopped the antibiotics I was taking for my acne. I started looking to very clean ingredients and researching the ones I was applying to my skin. bakuchiol
helps reduce the appearance of dark spots, uneven tone, and fine lines and wrinkles. Source is 3rd party regulated and extracts bakuchiol from babchi seeds that have fallen to the ground (versus harvesting the plants) Used as retinol substitute
sea grape caviar
harvested sustainably, this nutrient-rich algae hydrates skin and improves water retention
tsubaki seed oil
a natural source of antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamins helps smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, support the skin barrier, and helps defend skin from oxidative stress
five ceramides (np, ns, ap, eos, eop)
lipids that help maintain skin’s natural function, reduce moisture loss, and protect against dehydration, irritation, and signs of aging
celery superseed complex
this combination of fatty acid-packed flax and antioxidant-rich celery extracts works to support skin’s structure, which in turn helps skin look firmer, toned, and more supple while minimizing the appearance of pores
squalane
a natural moisturizer in skin, provides the lightweight hydration in the texture smoothing cream and helps lock in moisture
2% pha
gently removes dead cells at the skin’s surface to reveal fresher, smoother, and more even-toned skin while simultaneously hydrating and supporting the skin barrier.
1.5% salicylic acid
a beta hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates dead skin cells and decongests pores to help reduce excess oil
3% glycolic acid
exfoliates skin to help reduce the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles while supporting the collagen in your skin.
2% mandelic acid
great for blemish-prone skin, this gentle acid helps hydrate skin and reduce the appearance of dark spots and sun damage.
beta-glucan
(derived from oats) locks in hydration, calms, and supports skin’s natural moisture barrier

Cocokind formulas are based on research-backed ingredients at effective levels, and you should be able to see that for yourself. All of cocokind products are formulated without gluten or peanuts!

Each product page has a how to recycle tab with further instructions! Generally, they recommend recycling empty tubes and bottles according to your city’s guidelines. You can also repurpose the containers – for example, our rosewater bottle makes a great sprayer for watering plants.
