L’Oréal Acquires Thayers Natural Brand, Cruelty-free Witch Hazel Skincare

Thayers brand is best known for its iconic Witch Hazel Aloe Vera Formula Facial Toner, a best selling product.

Thayers has been a vegan and cruelty-free brand. 

A legacy brand, Thayers natural elixirs have been a fixture in medicine cabinets for generations – for 170 years to be exact. They’ve had a long-standing commitment to creating pure, effective, cruelty-free products of the highest natural quality. Thayers has a portfolio of various toners, astringents and deodorants.

L’Oreal Paris is NOT Cruelty-free. L’Oreal Paris pays and allows their products to be tested on animals when required by law. L’Oreal Paris also sells its products in stores in mainland China where animal testing is mandatory for all imported cosmetics.

L’Oreal has been included on PETA’s list of companies that test on animals for many years because it refused to adopt a company-wide policy against tests on animals for both its ingredients and finished products, and because it sells cosmetics products in China that are required by law to be tested on animals by government agencies.

Alexis Perakis-Valat, President Consumer Products Division of L’Oréal, said: ” This acquisition is part of our strategy to develop our skincare business all around the world .”

Makes me wonder how long it will before they sell in China.

No company is safe from animal testing in China – no matter how large.
