Is Cosrx Cruelty Free in 2026? A big red flag to me that they would possibly become not cruelty free was their acquisition by AmorePacific 2 years ago, one of the biggest skincare conglomerates in Korea that unfortunately still tests on animals. So know that their parent company is NOT cruelty free.
Is Cosrx Cruelty Free?
I had my wakeup up call when ULTA NO LONGER LISTED COSRX AS CRUELTY FREE.
Cosrx stated that they cannot verify if third parties they work with are avoiding independent animal testing. Here’s a quote from their recent email:
” because we source raw materials through multiple channels, it is difficult to fully verify whether animal testing has been conducted at every stage of the supply chain.”
They can choose to work with certified cruelty-free suppliers, but they choose not to.
Cosrx hasn’t signed PETA’s statement of assurance to join the high standard for cruelty-free certifications and be listed in their database. Neither have they come under the gold standard of cruelty-free which is Leaping Bunny.
Any company can be fully Cruelty-free but they let greed get in the way.
As you read this, hundreds of dogs, rabbits, monkeys, and other animals are dying in cruel and unnecessary experiments and product tests. In fact, 219 animals are killed every minute in a U.S. lab. They die in pain, alone, without a gentle touch or a soothing voice. Animal studies teach us nothing about the health of humans because animals of different species absorb, metabolize, and eliminate substances differently from humans.
I refuse to spend my money on companies that make animals suffer for their products or to support corporations that abuse animals.
