I used to be afraid of cleansing balms and oils thinking they would break me out. Thankfully that has never happened to me. I originally bought this for an eye makeup remover but it quickly became one of my favorite whole face cleansers. I’m rarely brand loyal unless you consider cruelty-free a brand. I’m more ingredient loyal. That being said this is the cleanser I have repurchased the most. I have used other more expensive balm make up removers but elf is just as effective for far less money!

It is not super scented

This is super important for taking eye makeup off. It’s nice to not have to worry about stinging on the face and eyes. I’ve tried some that were very off putting and you could still smell it even after it was removed. That’s not the case with elf Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm. The very slight scent disappears after wiping off with water.

This Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm is not is greasy

It liquifies when you massage it in. It wont leave a filmy residue on your face. That’s not to say its not hydrating. It doesn’t strip the skin but leaves it feeling soft and smooth. If you’re looking for a heavy cleansing balm that you need to double cleanse, this is not that. All skin types can use this on the daily since this balm turns into a liquid on contact..

It melts all makeup off super quickly, even mascara

It even takes off my sticky colored brow gel. While its very effective it its still gentle wont strip your skin especially sensitive eyelids. It melts of my make up quickly and leaves my skin and lashes nourished. This has become a staple in my routine and my first choice when taking off a full face of makeup and sunscreen. However this isn’t a special occasion cleanser. It’s an every day cleanser.

Even though this is an inexpensive cleanser it has some superior ingredients even high end balm cleansers don’t have. In fact there is some rather expensive peptides included. This honestly feels like a treatment when you’re using it. This is cleanser with skincare benefits. I’ve highlighted the premier ingredients below in purple. It makes a good cruelty-free alternative to Abolene cream and any Cerave Hydrating Makeup Cleansing Balm or Clinique Take The Day Off Charcoal Cleansing Balm that have cheap ingredients and test on innocent animals.

Removes all traces of sunscreen

Personally I find my sunscreen and bit tough to remove. I don’t want to be grinding away on my skin to get it off so this gentle cleansing balm does the trick with out having to scrub hard on my face. You shouldn’t need to cleanse more than once. I don’t wear waterproof sunscreen on my face so I cant witness to that but for regular SPF it works great..

It’s really hard to beat this price for the quality. My latest jar came with a little spatula which is good to help keep the germs at bay.
