Here’s what Tarte says about their deodorant:tartedeo

Aluminum & alcohol-free natural deodorant that’s non-irritating & chock full of natural odor neutralizers & conditioners for a healthy, clean feel without harsh chemicals

  • natural plant starches: absorb excess moisture & odor without inhibiting natural perspiration
  • aloe: helps cool & condition skin to avoid irritation

Product performance: This fresh & healthy twist-up deodorant features a hypoallergenic cream-to-powder formula that leaves no white marks, streaking or wetness behind. It provides long-lasting daily odor defense, even on the most sensitive skin, with natural plant starches to fight odor without disturbing normal perspiration. Soothing aloe cools & conditions to avoid irritation while the sweet vanilla scent & glam packaging provide a #cleanqueen morning or mid-day pick-me-up.  $14.00

Scent:  I didn’t even notice that it smelled like vanilla in the tube. It smelled more floral to me which I prefer. It does smell more vanilla once you get it on.

Texture:  It’s a bit thick. It also is a bit chalky.  It skids across the armpit so you must press firmly to get it on.

Feel: it feels tacky and sticky on the skin.

Color: It’s white in the tube but goes on opaque. You don’t see a big white stripe.

Performance:  It’s okay for an easy low-key, low sweat day. It didn’t perform on hot days for me. One day I noticed I stunk in one armpit but not the other. WEIRD. It also felt gummy. Not a good thing.  Not a fan of clammy armpits. I didn’t feel it masked or prevented any odor either.

Overall: I got this in a kit but this wouldn’t be anything I would repurchase. I’ll stick (no pun intended) with my crystal deodorant.
